5 GEMS I LEARNT

5 GEMS I LEARNT

1.                  Do not delegate unless you are fully aware of what you are delegating and to whom and have full knowledge about the work you are delegating lest you end up having to redo the job yourself, if the subordinate fails and then you too end up failing.
2.                  Do not be a specialist. Specialization is for professionals. By being a generalist you get more opportunities to add value to the seeker. As a specialist the seeker comes to you only for a specific value. Further, unless you are fully qualified, your role as a specialist is very limited in scope.
3.                  There’s no business without risk—this needs to be read in two ways. There’s no business without understanding risk—all businesses carry inherent risks and you as a business manager needs to identify the risk and mitigate them. This way you will be able to cushion any fall. Elimination of risk is not enough to ward of risks in business, since you never know what will hit you and when. There’s no business without taking risk— understanding the risk and taking them while ensuring that there is adequate support in the form of mitigates alone would allow business growth. If you do not take risk then there is no business.
4.                  Acquire and impart knowledge—from/to wherever, whenever, however and whoever possible. Knowledge is one thing which can never be taken away and that’s the only thing which can be acquired or imparted without being biased, threatened or feeling low. Acquire and impart knowledge wholeheartedly. This is the only thing that can never be divided among brothers, neither can be stolen nor the possession of which can be taxed by the government. It’s never a burden as “more the knowledge lighter does one feel”. Apart from this a knowledgeable person could be a very useful friend as well as a dangerous enemy
5.                  Build relationships—wherever, whoever, whenever and however possible. The more the relationships easier the life. As far as possible try to keep it and keep it simple without bringing or creating obligations.
