Why Indians Don't Dream Enough


Narendra Modi during his fast told “We Indians do not dream enough, we are satisfied with whatever we get and life just goes on”. Very true and just see what we got for the last 20 years.

1991—Rajiv Gandhi was killed, India Sold Gold, New government, New promises
1992—Harshad Mehta Scam and Babri Masjid
1993—Mumbai Blasts and Latur Earthquake
1994—Surat Plague, Sushmita and Aishwarya Rai get Miss Universe & Miss World titles
1995—425 people killed in Fire blaze in Haryana, Ganesha drinks milk
1996—2000 people killed in Cyclone in Andhra Pradesh, World’s deadliest Aircrash kills 349 people near Delhi
1997—Nothing Significant except that Sonia Gandhi officially announces decision to join Politics
1998—Cyclone in Gujarat 1120 people killed, Coimbatore Bombings kill more than 60 people
1999—Kargil and Kandhahar episodes happen (we are continuing to face the neighbour’s antics), Rajiv Gandhi’s killing co-conspirators sentenced to death, appeal for pardon..Continue to do so even after 12 years..
2000—Nothing significant except for floods in Rajasthan of all places and India wanting Pakistan to be declared as a Terrorist State..
2001—Gujarat earthquake, more than 1 lakh people die, India reaches 100 Crore population and Narendra Modi becomes CM of Gujarat
2002—Godhra Riots happen and rest is history
2003—Mumbai blasts in August kills more than 50
2004—26th December 2004, Tsunami in India and other Asian Countries, kills more than 2.5 lakhs
2005—26th July 2005, Floods in Mumbai kills many and maims Mumbai for a few days only for Mumbaites to accept that life goes on
2006—11th July 2006, Mumbai blasts once again in Trains across 7-8 locations, Mumbaites accept that life goes on and before that blasts in Varanasi
2007—Hyderabad Bombing and before that a significant change in stance by Pakistan, leading to Samjhautha Express Bomb blasts killing more than 100 people…
2008—let’s not forget this November 26th 2008, the only alive killer is still cooling his heels in Mumbai and more than 50 Crore has been spent on his Security. Most heinous crime is the way we are accepting this, before that Blasts in Bangalore, Ahmedabad.
2009—Guwahati bombing twice during the year, Ajmal Kasab Pleads guilty but nothing happens in India, YSR dies of helicopter crash
2010—Pune blasts happens; Ajmal Kasab is sentenced to death, still alive and kicking
2011—Mumbai blasts, Delhi blasts and many more in between, nothing found
Indians do not sleep enough to dream since we are always worried about our security. Hope someone does something for us.
